Around the World the Virtual Way
The line-up of faculty at SCM is itself worth every penny one pays. But that’s not all. Almost every week we had a guest speaker who introduced a new element to us, adding to what we learnt in class normally. We were unfortunate that we couldn't be on campus to lounge with our classmates between and after classes, could not experience roaming all over the city working on beats assigned by Jerry and we surely missed out on connecting with our faculty and classmates as we embarked on an enriching and exciting tour, or the monsoon trip laden with hot cups of tea on the way to the rice plantation. But online offered us something perhaps offline could never have. An international perspective from some guests who joined us from across the globe.

ADing with Tara Bhatnagar
While exploring the art of filmmaking we spoke to the maker of “Tungrus”, Rishi Chandna. Deepa Bhatia not only enlightened us about editing but explored different aspects of cinema with us. Shuchi Talati joined us from the US, and discussed her work with us, whereas Mukta Dhondh explored what working in television space is like. We had an interactive session with Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, where we touched upon the art of dialogue writing.
Photography is a visual art form. We spoke to some experts, all par excellence in their fields to understand visuals. Chirodeep Chaudhari took us through different forms of photography in his session, while Ashima Narain shared her work and experiences with us.
We did a deep dive into the world of research with some experts too. While Sonalini Mirchandani took us behind the idea and groundwork required to create an ethical yet award-winning advertisement, Priyanka Londhe spent afternoons with us clearing all our basics.
With Unnati Ghia we got an opportunity to understand the upsides and downsides of media through a constitutional lens. An eye-opener, especially now.

Anatomy of Movements with Raj Gupta
Sukhada Tatke joined us from Edinburgh, Scotland to help us navigate the channels of Freelancing, while Jaideep V.G allowed us to feel the rush and thrill of a Digital Newsroom while sitting in different corners.
To get a glimpse of advertising, we interacted with Raj Gupta who took us through brand communication, while Nandini Godara gave us an insight into the various media trends going on currently.
RJ Rohini Ramanathan talked about the importance of consuming content that’s churned all around and how it helps her produce a well-loved show. She also talked about her experiences at SCM and made us miss the classroom.
We had all these sessions and so many more! Every session taught us a new way of looking at things. We were left enriched with new information that we couldn’t wait to apply in our real lives.
