On the 22nd of September, the students of SCMSophia visited the Chemould Prescott Road art gallery to see the photography exhibition titled "Photo Studio" by renowned photographer Ketaki Sheth. This exhibition was her first work in coloured photography which was curated over the course of 3 years from 2015 to 2018 as she visited 65 photo studios across the country, out of which, most were on the verge of shutting down.
All of us were not only fascinated by Sheth's extensive work but were also deeply motivated to produce work at those levels, even for our assignments.

What caught everybody's eye was the presence of an old-school photo studio with large lights and a painted background as these rare studios are no longer as prevalent as before.

The exhibition helped us learn about the importance of framing, and colour compositions, showed us what photography back in the day was like and most importantly taught us how to make our subjects comfortable and photograph them in the best way possible.

We had immense fun while looking at the different kinds of people in the photographs, their attires and what it conveyed about them and the way they posed. We even tried recreating them in the live-sized photo studio created there with the original backdrops used in the photographs....
